Recurring Assignments

Who this guide is for: Tenant administrators who run compliance training that must be repeated on a schedule (e.g. annual safety or privacy training).

A recurring assignment automatically re-assigns a course to every member of a group on a cadence you choose. Each cycle, members are re-enrolled with a fresh due date and their prior progress for that course is reset, so they must complete it again.

Create a recurring assignment

1. Go to Admin → Recurring assignments (/<locale>/admin/recurring-assignments).
2. Under New recurring assignment, choose:
   • Course — what to assign.
   • Group — who gets it (every active member).
   • Repeat every (months) — the cadence, e.g. 12 for annual.
   • Days to complete each cycle — the due window, e.g. 30.
3. Click Create assignment.

The first cycle runs on the next daily sweep. After that, the next run advances by your interval automatically.

Manage assignments

Each row shows the course, group, cadence, next run date, and status.

• Pause / Resume — temporarily stop or restart an assignment without deleting it.
• Delete — remove the assignment. Enrollments already created are not removed.

How a cycle works

When an assignment comes due, for every member of the group:

• if they have no enrollment in the course, one is created (active, with the due date);
• if they already have one, it is reset to active, the completion is cleared, and module progress is wiped — so the learner redoes the course.

Previously earned certificates remain in the learner’s wallet; the new cycle produces a new completion when finished.
