How to complete a course
A course is made up of one or more modules. You complete a course by finishing all of its required modules. You can do them in any order.
Steps
- Sign in to EmbayLMS and select My learning in the top navigation bar. Your Home page also shows a Continue learning card for the course you were last working on.
- Find the course and click Continue (or Start if you haven’t begun).
- The course opens in a focused player: the module list is on one side, and the content fills the rest of the screen. Work through each module. Use Next module and Previous to move between modules. Your progress saves automatically — you can leave and come back at any time.
- On the last module, click Finish Course. Once all required modules are complete, a Course complete screen appears. If the course gives a certificate, click View your certificate to see it. If a required module is not finished yet, the player stays open instead: check the module list for modules that are not marked complete.
- The course now appears under Completed in My learning and on your Transcript.
Turn on captions
If a video has captions, the video player shows a captions button, often marked CC. Select it to turn captions on and pick a language. Captions are off when a video starts. Once you turn them on, your next videos start with the same language, and turning them off is remembered too.
What counts as “complete” for each module type?
| Module type | When it counts as complete |
|---|---|
| Video, audio, or YouTube/Vimeo video | When you have watched or listened to about 90% of it |
| Document, PDF, or web page | As soon as you open it |
| Downloadable file | As soon as you download it |
| SCORM, AICC, or cmi5 content | When the content itself reports that you finished it |
| Quiz | When you reach the passing score |
| Live session series | When your attendance is recorded as present |
Under some modules you will see a Mark complete button. It is turned on for that module only: click it when you have finished.
Your progress saves automatically
If you close the browser in the middle of a module, your progress is saved. When you come back, click Continue in My learning (or Resume course on your Home page) to pick up where you left off.
