Post-Course Surveys (Evaluations)

Who this guide is for: Admins and authors who collect learner feedback (Kirkpatrick Level 1 reaction) after a course.

Each course can have one optional survey. It is not scored and not required — learners are invited to give feedback after they complete the course. Results feed the future learning-effectiveness rollup.

Build the survey

  1. Open the course in Admin → Courses.
  2. In the editor’s settings column, find Post-course survey.
  3. Set a title and keep Survey active checked.
  4. Click + Add question for each question and choose a type:
TypeLearner sees
Rating scaleA 1–N rating (set the max)
Single choiceRadio buttons (one option per line)
Multiple choiceCheckboxes (one option per line)
Free textA comment box
  1. Click Save survey.

What learners see

After a learner completes the course, the course page shows a Give feedback link to the survey. Each learner can submit once (re-opening updates their answer). Surveys never block completion or certificates.

View results

In the same Post-course survey panel, click View results:

  • Rating scale → average + response count
  • Single / multiple choice → counts per option
  • Free text → number of written answers
