How to Change the Platform Language
EmbayLMS is available in English and French (Canada). This article shows you how to switch between them.
How to Change Your Language
- Sign in to your portal.
- Click the circle with your initials in the top-right corner.
- Select View profile.
- Under Personal information, find Language.
- Choose English, or French (shown in the list as Français (Canada)).
- Click Save changes.
The page reloads and the platform switches to the language you selected right away.
What Changes When You Switch Languages
Changes immediately:
- All menus, buttons, and labels in the platform
- Notification emails you receive in the future
- Date formats and number formats
Does not change:
- Courses you are already enrolled in - you take a course in the language you chose when you enrolled. Its title, lesson titles and content stay in that language.
- Certificates already issued - they keep the language they were generated in.
Courses Offered in More Than One Language
Some courses are offered in both English and French.
- In the catalog, a course shows its French title and description when you use the platform in French and the course is offered in French. Otherwise you see the title in the language the course was created in.
- When you enroll, you choose the course’s language. From then on, the course title, every lesson title and the content are in that language: on your home page, in My learning, in the course player, on your transcript and on your certificate.
- Emails about a course use its title in the language of your emails, when the course is offered in that language.
- A course offered in one language only is shown in that language, whatever your platform language.
